Almost 5 months of a break and we’re back at it, with the first wedding of the season. This season being so much more special than the ones before, as it marks the start of our 10th year documenting weddings. And what a better way to kick it off, with this cozy, intimate, Tamil wedding, with a whole lot of simplicity, modernity and delicious mouth watering food.
When Vaishnavi and Shreeshan reached out to us, they were very clear about how they wanted to go about their day. Without any tradition, without any fuss and keeping it as a simple celebration of their union, with their closest family and friends. From the beautiful courtyard, to the minimal decor and the food, everything was kept minimal and homely and close to the heart. They even had their dog ‘coco’ be part of this celebration.
As the couple entered the courtyard, the parents and siblings joined them and stood by their side. The rest of the family and guests stood around the courtyard and watched and cheered and also shed a tear as the parents of the couple, shared stories about the bride and groom, and the build-up to how they finally made it to this day. And when the speeches were done, the friends jumped in to carry the couple on their shoulders as they exchanged the Malas. The place erupted in immense joy and celebration and as the couple were showered with petals, they exchanged rings and sealed the deal!
The family engaged in some fun games with the couple before lunch was made ready. Lunch was bang on brilliant, deliciously prepared by Sappadu from Assagao. Traditional south indian vegetarian food, served on a banana leaf, that had everyone in a food coma. One could not get themselves out of their chair. How do we know? ‘Coz we too were in another dimension after we ate the food! 😛
A great start to our season! Fun, minimal and intimate. Hope you enjoy a few glimpses of the day.
