This year our Mumbai weddings have been unique. Weddings that didn’t have the standard locations and standard rituals and events that normally happen. Every step we took in these Mumbai weddings was excitement unleashed. Eagerly waiting to see what lied ahead. Not to say that we do not eagerly wait for the next events in other weddings.
It was the day after Christmas and there was a certain mood in the air. It was not bad, but it was different. Our experience of Mumbai and our time lived there, was not the same as this time. The pandemic had brought about a certain eerie feel to the place. Christmas didn’t feel the same and we were not sure what lied ahead in this wedding. We hadn’t met Kim or Alloy before and we were a bit nervous. But the minute we met them, it felt like we’ve known each other for some time.
It was a beautiful day, the plans ahead were unique and the moments waiting to be eagerly captured. From Kims bouquet, to her gown, to Alloys white coat and yes, everyone in ‘masks’, the uniqueness was unquestionable. Travel as usual in Mumbai has its fun moments of struggling to get a cab and daring cab drivers who drive like they are on fire to get you quickly to your destination, with us hanging on for dear life either with us going to crash or the car itself coming apart. Oh the thrill and the rush.
From the solemn service in Church to the most amazing experience and we bet the most unique venue till date. The reception on a boat, flanked by the Worli Sea Link. The view, the experience breathtaking. Cutting cake, to popping champagne and dancing on the boat. And if you couldn’t dance, the boat made sure you did so with its constant rocking.
Close family and close friends and cozy spaces and a beautiful two souls, made us love this wedding so much more and the experience of shooting in Mumbai.
Hope you love the few glimpses of the day.
