A few weeks before the event, we got a call from Karen ( KV Decor), about a small intimate session that was to happen, among close family and friends. Since we were already booked, and were almost uncertain of taking up this little session, we almost turned it down. But, something inside us knew we had to take it up.
I had never met the couple Kashif and Tina before the day, and I was quite anxious to know what they were like and how I was going to go about shooting and what to expect. But, the minute I met Kashif, my nerves calmed down instantaneously and I connected with him. He was full of fun, quirky and quite the entertainer with his witty comebacks. He explained to me, that Tina and he had been married for 10 years, and to mark the anniversary, he wanted to surprise her, by renewing their vows in front of some of the closest friends and Tina’s mother.
I was super excited from there on and couldn’t wait to get started and see how things were to unfold. There was no concrete plan, and I just had to go with the flow of things. Ironically, the little villa they were exchanging vows, was called ” Casa Tina”. How cool is that?
Tina walked in to the ceremony, escorted by her son, and kids of their close friends, to a barefooted kashif, who stood by a beautifully decorated tree, but only for Tina’s eyes to fall on Kashif’s barefoot moment, which he got a bit of stick for. 😛
The ceremony went on with laughter and tears being shed as the two exchanged vows and renewed it, in front of the people that mattered the most to them. Followed by Tina’s mother and all the friends and even their kids, who spoke about the couple appreciating them, for who they were. It was indeed a special moment and truly a big surprise for Tina, who couldn’t hold back her joy. They eventually all headed to dance the night away, feasting on some of their favorite Goan dishes. From prawns, to lepo, to having their main course as just crab. This entire day was like a small little house party, but filled with emotional levels that couldn’t be explained.
